Suicide Cliff: Civilians and remaining Japanese defenders were forced North by American Soldiers. They were convinced they would not survive but instead, be abused by the Americans. So, with no hope, they plunged to their death at this very spot. Last Command Post: This place is known as a National Historic Landmark and is used to commemorate the history of the United States of America. The large hole which was a bunker was caused by a shell fired by a U.S battleship. Some military relics like tanks are still left outside of the bunker to be seen. Monument of Rev. Truhiko Kawakami: This monument was put up in October of 1988 for the people who committed suicide and jumped off the cliff. The Head Temple of Nenpau Shimkyou Shousouxan Kongoui: This memorial was created on behalf of all people to serve all those who have lost their lives during the war. This was built as a prayer for world peace. Banzai Cliff: Hundreds of Japanese soldiers and families plunged to their deaths at this v
